and Wildlife Exposition, Holiday Craft Fair.
These special events happen
throughout the year. Each event has its exciting activity and focus.
Volunteer needs encompass staffing, set-up and break down the Center
for the event.
EXHIBIT HALL GUIDE & TRAIL GUIDE
Educate visitors about Rhode Island's
environment by guiding tours, facilitating the use of interactive exhibits,
and answering visitors' questions at the Center. This is a great opportunity
to use your presentation skills and share your love of the environment
with people of all ages. Training provided.
GIFT SHOP & ADMISSIONS
Help raise money for environmental education,
conservation, and advocacy by greeting visitors and assisting them with
admission, answer general questions, and helping them with selections
and purchases in the Center's gift shop.
Training provided. Volunteers with strong customer service skills, the
ability to multitask, will enjoy this position.
REFUGE MAINTENANCE & GARDENING
EXPERTISE
Maintenance: Help maintain an inviting atmosphere in which people
of all ages can learn about and enjoy nature by assisting with grounds
maintenance tasks (mowing, weeding, refuge pick-up).
Gardening: Plant
flowers that are native to the area. Accent the garden beds with inviting,
colorful species that are indigenous to the vicinity. Seasonal. Garden
